Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data AppDook collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese.
Who we are
AppDook is a software development studio based at C2/809, Pragati IT Park, Opp AR Mall, Near VIP Circle, Mota Varachha, Surat 394105, Gujarat, India. For anything in this policy, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
Information you give us
When you submit our contact form we collect your name, email address, and optionally your company name, budget range, the services you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message field. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and, if we end up working together, to administer that relationship.
Information collected automatically
Our web server records standard request logs: IP address, browser user agent, requested page, and timestamp. These are used for security, troubleshooting and rate limiting, and are retained for a limited period.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
- Essential cookies - required for the site and the content management system to function, for example keeping an administrator signed in. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies - if enabled, these help us understand which pages are read and how people arrive, in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies - see the section below.
Third-party advertising
We may display advertising served by third parties, including Google. Where we do:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Third-party ad networks may collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We do not control these cookies, and this policy does not cover the practices of those third parties.
Legal basis for processing
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we process contact form data on the basis of legitimate interest - responding to an enquiry you initiated - or to take steps prior to entering a contract. Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent. Where India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies, we process personal data for the lawful purpose for which you provided it.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the site - hosting and email delivery - and only to the extent required for them to provide that service, or where we are legally obliged to disclose it.
Retention
Contact enquiries are retained for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless we are working together, in which case records are kept for as long as required for that engagement and any subsequent legal or accounting obligations. Server logs are retained for a shorter period. You may ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, administrative access requires authentication, and passwords are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
