Apple TV brings back limited series Imperfect Women for a second season, and Apple Music's new logo reaches iOS 27.2

Apple TV is making a second season of Imperfect Women, billed as a limited series, centred on Kerry Washington's Eleanor. Plus Apple Music's new logo.

Apple TV said on 5 October that Imperfect Women, an eight-part series it ordered and marketed as a limited series, will return for a second season.

The first season, adapted from Araminta Hall's novel and created for television by Annie Weisman, ran weekly from 18 March to 29 April 2026. It starred Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington and Kate Mara as three friends whose bond is tested by a murder. Apple's 2024 announcement described it as a limited series, which in television normally means one closed story.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple says the show returns by popular demand with a new story set on Martha's Vineyard, built around Washington's character Eleanor. Washington returns and executive produces alongside Moss. Matt Cherniss, Apple TV's head of programming, said Apple had jumped at the chance to expand the show's world, and Apple describes the new season as based on an original idea rather than a second book. No release window and no further cast were given.

Apple Music's new logo appears in iOS 27.2 beta 3

Separately, Apple Music appears to be changing its logo. The new mark, in a bolder typeface, first appeared last month on the website for Apple Music Hall, Apple's music venue. 9to5Mac reports it has since been used in Apple's Instagram Reels unrelated to the venue, and on 5 October Aaron Perris posted that iOS 27.2 beta 3 uses it inside the operating system. Apple's own Apple Music website still shows the old logo, and Apple has announced nothing.

Why turn a limited series into a returning one?

Apple has done this before, and the pattern is worth naming. A limited series is easier to cast: stars sign for one season, and Moss and Washington are exactly the kind of names that do not commit to years. Once the show works, the label becomes a constraint, and the usual fix is the one Apple has chosen here. Keep one character, move the setting, write a new mystery. It is an anthology in all but name, and that is the honest way to read season two. Anyone hoping to follow the three friends from the first season should expect one of them.

It also fits how Apple TV has been deciding what to keep. We reported Apple renewing Carême while setting dates for Small Prophets and Nocturne, and the service has been extending shows with recognisable leads rather than starting from nothing. A second season with no date and an original story is early, though. The first season was announced in March 2024 and premiered two years later. On that clock, season two is a 2028 show at the earliest.

The logo is a smaller story with a longer tail. 9to5Mac's comparison with the slow move from Apple TV+ to Apple TV is the right one: a logo that appears first at a venue, then in social posts, then in a beta, is a rebrand being rolled out piece by piece rather than launched. APPDOOK expects it to arrive with iOS 27.2 for everyone, but until Apple's own site changes, it is a beta detail. It does fit with Apple Music's recent visual reset, after Apple Music 7.0 brought a Liquid Glass look to Android.
